3
Q

How to differentiate between ossifying fibroma and fibrous dysplasia?

A

Ossifying - push floor of max sinus superiorly, original shape is not kept, surrounded by a RL rim-capsule

Fibrous dysplasia - original shape of max sinus is in tact, no capsule, can be associated with simple bone cavity or cyst

7
Q
A

ossifying fibroma

Not within max sinus but pushing superiorly and medially so whats left of the max sinus doesnt have the OG shape as wed see in fibrous dysplasia so therefore its ossifying fibroma
- not resorbing everything, just moving out of the way

Q

What is chondrosarcoma?

A

Malignant tumor of mesenchymal origin that produces carilage

17
Q
A

Chondrosarcoma

18
Q
A

chondrosarcoma
- this is different than ossifying fibroma because it actually eats away at the bone and replaces it with cartilage rather than moving it like ossifying fibroma does

19
Q

What is calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) associated with?

A

52% association with the crown of an unerupted/impacted tooth
