How does Meckel’s Diverticulum present?

A

Asymptomatic/mimic other conditions

  • caecal volvulus (if tethered to umbilicus)
  • intussusception (often gangrenous by operation)
  • appendicitis (diverticulum inflamed, presents as appendicitis)
  • peptic ulceration (pain around umbilicus, related to mealtimes
