16
Q

difference between accuracy and precision?

A

accuracy is how close a measurement is to actual value and precision is the exactness of a measurement (basically consistency)

17
Q

what are the 4 rule of sig figures?

A

1- all non 0 digits are significant
2- zero between non-zero digits are significant
3- trailing 0s are sig if it has a decimal
4- zeros left of 1st nonzero digit are insig

18
Q

what are the 2 rules of calculating sig figs?

A

1- when (x) or (/) have answers w least sig fig
.81 x 3.44 = 2.784 –> 2.8
2- when (+) or (-) have answers w least sig fig to the right of decimal
.8273 - .25 = .5773 –> .58

19
Q

density formula

A

density = mass/volume

20
Q

scientific notation rules

A

1- move decimal to left for positive exp

2- move decimal to right of neg exp
