Worcester vs. Georgia

A

Indians appealed case to federal courts in 1832. The court ruled that Georgia’s land seizure was unconstitutional. Jackson did not accept this and told Marshall to try and enforce it.

  • 1836 after multiple conflicts w/whites, creeks left
  • black hawk’s war (1832) fought federal troops, from Illinois. Black Hawk led resistance by Sauk and Fox nations.

The selection has no clear outcome Jackson wins the popular vote however neither candidate wins new majority of electoral votes the House of Representatives chooses John Quincy Adams to be president with the support from Clay this angers Jackson who criticizes Adams throughout his presidency
