  • eventually, all mental illness= categorised– underlying biological causes (bacterial, viral infections, localised brain damage, toxins, heredity)
  • lead to treatment, prevention

  • occur independently from each other

  • Distress= giving negative feelings to self, but can also be to others– antisocial behaviour– can lead to criminal behaviour
  • Dysfunction= psychological, biological, or behavioural dysfunction in person
  • Deviance= socially diff
