P02 in the body
when p02 is high = hb and 02 bind easily
when p02 is low = Hb and 02 do not bind easily
- p02 is highest in the arterial blood = 100Hg
- p02 is lowest in the muscle
bohr effect
more acidic pH occurs during exercise Hb releases more readily
- increase acidic environment hb decreases therefore better effiency of 02 relesaing
effect of tempreture on 02 release
increase tempreture = increased 02 release
- warmer conditions will induce less binding of hb 02 and therefore more 02 release
2,3 DPG
RBC does not have mitocondira instead rely on the breakdown of glucose for the production of ATP
- increase concentration of DPG = increase oxygen release
effects of exercise on 02 transport
1- exercise increase body temp
2- exercise increase acidity
