A

Stalin reversed the Bolshevik policy towards women and the family
Women became members of the workforce, and had to produce and raise the next generation

A

Over 0.5 million women fought in the armed forced, but instead of raising their status, this made them vulnerable

How did the education system change?

A

A series of education reforms were introduced
10 years of compulsory education
1929 – 1940 : the number of children attending school rose from 12 to 35 million
1926 – 1939 : the literacy rate for the population over the age of 9 rose from 51% to 88%
