Q

Contraindications

A
  1. Skin infections of viral fungal or bacterial origin
  2. Open wounds massage can damage to healing tissue and restart bleeding and cause infection
  3. Circulatory problems can be adversely affected by massage increasing bloodflow manipulating blood vessels haemophilia arteriosclerosis haemorrhage thrombosis deep vein thrombosis
  4. Recent injury if massage to early in the healing process will cause further damage will cause trauma to the fragile healing tissue leading to delay in repair and further bleeding which could cause scarring 48 hours after injury
  5. Tumours can be mechanically stimulated by massage which speeds up metabolism and spreads tumour don’t massage directly over tumour
  6. Acute inflammation as inflammatory process can be increased by the effects produced
  7. Diabetes peripheral circulation affected blood vessels easily damaged
  8. Respiratory problems
