Issue: Grievance

Immediate Actions

  • Meet with employee about grievance

Investigate

  • Review SOP 02.07.01 Grievances
  • 1st step-oral report to immediate supervisor within 20 business days that employee is informed of event
  • Consult BC prior to providing response within 5 business days

Notify

  • Battalion Management Team (BC and EMS Supervisor)

Document/Discipline

  • Supervisors notes (names, date, time)

Follow up

  • Delegate training for the shift to LT or Master Technician on SOPs and different avenues to pursue grievances (mediation for example)
    • Review training in 3 working days, have the training delivered in 6 working days
