17
Q

Fuel system?

A

Outers 678kg
Inners 5 396kg
Centre 6 474kg
Total 18 623kg

-Fuel supplied fuel from inner tanks to engines- 4 pumps.
-2 electrical transfer valves permit transfer from outer to inner.
- suction valves allow gravity feeding if inner tank pumps fail (closed by pump pressure in normal operation).

19
Q

Fuel feed sequence?

A

Tanks empty in the following sequence :
1. ACT2 transfers into center.
2. ACT1 transfers into center.
3. Center transfers into inners.
4. Each inner empties down to 750 kg.
5. Outer transfers into inners.

20
Q

When does centre tank transfer valve open?

A

500kg of inner used.

MODE SEL in MAN position- Inner tank overflow must be prevented by selecting the CTR TK XFR pb-sw OFF when the inner tanks are
full. They must also be selected OFF when the center tank is empty.

21
Q

When does fuel transfer from outer to inner tanks?

A

When inner reaches 750 kg.
Valves are then latched open- automatically close at next refueling.

22
Q

Warmup?

A

After start to avoid thermal shock, operate ENG
at IDLE for 3min
