Why is personal information collected?
It is important to inform their diagnosis and type of treatment that may be required. It’s important to get the full picture of patient history to identify follow on care needs, outlining the individuals health and wellbeing history.
What is GDPR 2018?
Set of data protection rules which applies to processing data by care organisations and settings

So that it can be shared, as appropriate, within the wider network of multidisciplinary teams. as well as this, it helps for future use.

What is Caldecott principles?
They help to ensure that confidential information is protected and uses appropriately
What are the 8 Caldecott principles?
- justify the purpose for using confidential info
- only use when necessary
- use the minimum necessary info
- access to personal confidential data should be on a strictly need to know basis
- everyone with the data should be aware of their responsibilities
- comply with the law
- the duty to share info for care is as important as the duty to protect confidentially
- inform patients about how their data is being used
