What is adrenaline
A hormone released by the adrenal glands, in response to stressful or scary situation
How is adrenaline produced
-brain detects fear or stress
-then nervous impulses are sent to the adrenal glands
-they then secret adrenaline
What does adrenaline do
Increase the supply of oxygen and glucose to cells in the brain and muscles
What system is used to control the level of hormones in the blood
Negative feedback
What does thyroxine do
-It regulates metabolic rate
-stimulates protein synthesis
What is thyroxine
A hormones released by the thyroid glands that regulates metabolism
What is thyroxine released in response to
Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) which is released from the pituitary gland
