Q

Vertical separation limits?

A

1000ft standardly below FL290, above is 2000ft unless RVSM. The 1000ft standard may be reduced in a control zone to 500ft provided they are medium/light category and lower aircraft is VFR/SVFR below 4500ft.

Q

How is Longitudinal separation achieved? Can it be reduced?

A

Aircraft on same track/points, asked to slow down/speed up, arrive at waypoint at XX time etc. Can be reduced to aircraft on reciprocal tracks, provided both report sighting the other aircraft. Can be done by day/night.

Q

Can tower use their own visual separation?

A
