Who should not receive bethanechol?
GI/Urinary obstruction and COPD (increased secretions)
What is atropine used for?
Anticholinergic effects —>
Decrease motility and secretions
Eye/Bronchodilation and increase HR

alpha adrenergic agonist
What is the risk of phenylephrine use?
Rebound congestion/bradycardia and glaucoma worsening
What is Prazosin used for and how does it work?
Decreasing Hypertension by relaxing peripheral blood vessels
What kind of drug is prazosin
Adrenergic blocking drug
What is the major consideration with prazosin (2)
Can cause orthostatic hypotension…
so 1st dose should be at bed time and small
