A

Inhibit 50s ribosome unit BUT it’s BACTERIOCIDAL!
Neomycin is for gut cleaning
Paromycin is for parasites

Everything about Tetracyclines

A

can treat MRSA infections
bacteriostatic 30s ribosome inhibitor
tx for Coxiella, Brucella, Yersinia, Mycoplasma pneumonia, Chlamydia
adverse effects: tooth discoloration in kids, photosensitivity, GI problems (N/V/D)
teratogen for fetus
Fanconi syndrome (type 2 RTA) if use of expired tetracyclines
