Types of Antidepressants: (Name 3)

A

SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors):
* Block serotonin reabsorption, which means more serotonin stays active in the brain

MAO Inhibitors:
* Block the MAO enzyme that breaks down dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin

Tricyclic Antidepressants::
* Block reuptake of serotonin + norepinephrine and affect receptors directly
