What are the guidelines a male Soldier must follow to have a mustache?
- Mustaches must be neatly trimmed, tapered, and tidy.
- Mustaches must not present a chopped off or bushy appearance.
- No portion of the mustache will cover the upper lip line or extend beyond a vertical line drawn upward from the corners of the mouth.
- Mustaches must not extend above a parallel line at the lowest portion of the nose.
- Handlebar mustaches, goatees, and beards are not authorized.
Are males allowed to wear earrings in uniform? Are females?
Females only are authorized to wear earrings with the service, dress, mess, and evening mess uniforms.
What does the regulation say about the length of a male Soldier’s fingernails?
Males will keep nails trimmed so as not to extend beyond the fingertip unless medically required.
What does the regulation say about the length of a female Soldier’s fingernails?
Females will not exceed a nail length of 1/4 inch as measured from the tip of the finger.
Are males allowed to wear nail polish while in uniform? Are females?
Males are not authorized to wear nail polish. Females may only wear clear polish when in uniform.
