When special cells in plant stems and roots divide repeatedly to form structures that will eventually develop into a plant identical to the parent
Ex: Potato

A
A growth forms on the parent and when the growth reaches a certain size it drops off and continues to grow.
Ex: Sponges, hydras (animals that don’t move)

When a parents cell replicates its genetic material and divides into 2 equal parts
