What is the

Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area?

A growing area that encompasses part of the

Big Rivers Zone
&
Southern New South Wales Zone

It follows the path of the Murrumbidgee River from just east of where the Lachlan River splits off.

Continues on through to South Australia's Riverland GI in the Lower Murray Zone.

This gorwing area represents a significant portion of Australia's plantings; much of which is destined for bulk wine.

The MIA is one of the big reasons for the creation of the Southeastern Australia Super Zone.
