What is Authoritative parenting?
Style: Parents have clear expectations, but are also responsive, nurturing, and willing to collaborate with the child.
Discipline: Natural consequences, guidance, and discussion are used to remediate behaviors and establish boundaries.
Impact: Kids tend to be more self-reliant, socially competent, and have higher self-esteem and academic achievement due to reliable and considerate support.

Style: Parents are highly demanding and directive, and they expect compliance without much explanation or flexibility.
Discipline: Strict punishment is used.

What is Disengaged Parenting?
Style: Parents are neither demanding nor responsive and provide little emotional support, guidance, or attention to the child’s needs.
Discipline: Due to lack of parental presence or investment, rules and boundaries are not enforced.
Impact: Kids may experience emotional and behavioral difficulties, have low self-esteem, and struggle academically and socially due to the lack of parental involvement.
What is Permissive Parenting?
Style: Parents are highly responsive and accommodating, but have few demands, boundaries, or expectations.
Discipline: Rules and boundaries are rarely enforced.
Impact: Kids may exhibit increased independence and creativity, but may also struggle with self- regulation, discipline, anxiety, and
authority due to lack of structure.
