Brakes Flashcards
RTO
Automatically applies maximum brake pressure when the thrust levers are retarded to idle above 85 knots
Which HYD SYS powers Normal Brakes?
The Right HYD SYS
If the R HYD SYS pressure is low, how are the brakes effected?
The center hydraulic system automatically supplies pressure to the alternate brake system. Pushing a brake pedal then sends hydraulic pressure through the alternate antiskid valves to the brakes
Which HYD SYS powers the RESV BRAKES?
The Center HYD SYS
What is the backup source of HYD pressure for Nose Wheel Steering?
Center RESV fluid using the C-1 HYP Pump,
which is activated by the RESV BRAKES And STEERING Switch
When are AUTO BRAKES deactivated?
- Fault (autobrake or antiskid)
- Speedbrake lever moved to down detent after deployment on ground
- Thrust Lever (either advanced after landing)
- OFF is selected
- Pedal Brake is applied
When are AUTO BRAKES activated during takeoff?
On the ground, above 85 knots
and
BOTH Thrust levers are at IDLE
Which Brake Systems have Anti-skid capability?
NORM, ALT, RESV and accumulator
How many Brake Systems are there? Name them:
4.
Normal Brakes,
Alternate Brakes,
Reserve Brakes
Accumulator Brakes
Which systems have anti-skid?
All but Accumulator
Which HYD SYS powers each braking system?
NORM - RIGHT
ALT - CENTER
RESERVE - CENTER
ACCUM - RIGHT
What does the BRAKE SOURCE light mean?
Both normal and & ALT BRAKE SYS PRESS is low
What does the ANTISKID light mean?
There is a fault with the antiskid system.
Where are Brake Temperature Indications found?
on EICAS Status page.
Name 4 ways to disarm Autobrakes?
-Step on the Brake Pedals
-S/B lever forward
-Select DISARM
-Advance the Thrust Levers (like a takeoff or a go around).
