Q

What was the sample? How are they allocated and what were the different groups?

A

The sample consisted of 15 participants
They were randomly allocated to one of three condition
Which were the biofeedback group
irrelevant group and silent group also known as the no feedback

Q

What was the main procedure?

A
  1. Participants completed 21 minute session with child’s one and three days apart. The 15 people were randomly allocated to one of the three levels, one experimental group and two control groups one of the control groups where no tone was played another one where there were told a tone would help them relax this group is referred as the irrelevant group
A base sign was collected during the second recording, where the main level of muscle action was found

Electrodes replaced above the eyebrow and participants retold July quietly on their back with their eyes closed

Q

What was the monetary incentive?

A

The individual were told that they would be paid $1.50 for each session and we’re told that a bonus would be given according to rank

Q

What were each of the conditions told?

A

The experimental feedback condition were told that the lower pitch tone would indicate low muscle 10 and this is based on tension on the forehead
The irrelevant group for a total relax, and that a low tone would help them to relax
And then no feedback group were to relax their forehead as much as possible

Q

What did the results show?

A

The result show that 50% decrease of mean action potential of the experimental group
At 20% decrease of mean action potential by the No feedback group
And a 28% increase in mean action potential for the irrelevant group
