What is the Full Cab Unattended Procedure?

A

PA announcement (if necessary)

Marker lights to WHITE

REVERSER to OFF

Observe Park Brake button illuminated RED and BP light on status panel also

BCH to EMERGENCY (apply air brake)

BVIC Closed (isolate air brake)

BCH to RUN and ensure brake cylinder pressure has increased to emergency pressure

Once train is secured … what do you do?

A

Take keys, portable DTRS

Observe Park Brake gauge (applied)

Close and lock all doors and windows

Perform duties

Return to cab, open BVIC ensure TDN has reinserted into fixed DTRS

A

BCH to Step 7 EP
(even if running on air brake)

Marker lights to WHITE

REVERSER to OFF

Observe Park Brake button illuminated RED and BP light on status panel also

Check Fixed DTRS volume for adequacy

Take keys

Perform duties

Insert key

Marker lights to AUTO

A

Trip latching lever UP
BCH to EMERGENCY (exhaust air)
BCH to RUN and RELEASE (BP charges)
BCH to EMERGENCY (exhaust air)
BVICS Closed

Marker lights to AUTO

Switch off any unnecessary cab equipment

Verify local Park Brakes applied

Close and release saloon doors for AC
(if possible)

Close and lock all doors and windows, blinds down

Visually inspect front of train for marker lights and headlights

Check for obvious defects:
Doors
Windows
Lighting

Cab doors locked

What is the Cut In Procedure?

A

Open BVICS - observe BP Pressure rising, Brake Cylinder pressure dropping

Lower Trip Latch- BP reaches 500kPA
BCH to EMERGENCY (exhaust air)
BCH to RUN and RELEASE (charge BP)
BCH to Step 7 EP Braking

Insert Portable DTRS

insert TDN into DDU

Inspect fault and status panel for faults

If you find any damaged platform infrastructure what do you do?

A

Report to TC.

No TMM necessary

If you are unable to secure a cab door what do you do?

A

Report to TC

Use internal spring bolt lock

If this lock doesn’t work tell TC you require CE to travel in unsecured cab.

Make them aware of the responsibilities:
- only occupy OJT seat
- All doors and windows remain closed
- unauthorised access prevented
- cab equipment not to be operated
