A

The train must be secured to prevent unintended movement or unauthorized entry

What is the FULL cab unattended procedure for Xtrap?

A

-PA (if necessary)
MC in COAST
-EMY brake applied status light & BC pressure at EMY (210)
-reverser in NEUTRAL
- marker lights to WHITE (unless Red is req’d)
- take controller all keys, portable radio
- lock cab door & windows

On RETURNING:
- reset trip
- marker lights to AUTO
- radio back in
- check TDN is transferred in fixed radio

What is the changing ends procedure (cutting out)?

A
  • MC to COAST
  • ensure EMY brake applied status ind. light is on.
  • note holding brake pressure increases to EMY brake pressure (cyl)
  • RAISE trip
  • marker lights to AUTO, saloon lights on, headlights off.
  • switch off unnecessary equipment
  • reverser NEUTRAL take controller key
  • windows/ doors, blinds closed

Check rear: markers RED no headlights
Check cab & all doors are locked
Check along train for obvious defects
Check centre motors secure
Check pantos
Check lights on in all carriages
Check front for correct headboard & marker lights

Modified cab unattended procedure

A

All the same as full cab except the only thing that is different is
You don’t take DTRS or lock doors

Where must a special needs passenger be waiting if they wish to be assisted ?

A

Waiting at 3 or 6 car mark

  • Unless an allocated space is not available
  • to ensure access to unique facilities
    *to ensure passenger can board AND alight the train.

How can a driver ensure passengers with special needs can reach their destination in times of disruption?

A

Driver will advise Metrol if any passengers will require further assistance

  • release doors on plat side
  • marker lights to WHITE
  • master controller in COAST
  • reverser NEUTRAL
  • train radio volume up high
  • Remove Controller key
  • exit cab to platform get ramp out etc.
  • define location of exit w passenger
  • return ramp
  • return to cab insert key
  • reminder post it note with exit location
  • marker lights AUTO
  • reverser FORWARD
  • close doors
  • DEPART when safe
