Why is it hard to test infant behaviour?

A
  • unpredictable
  • can’t give consent/ undertand what is happening
  • unclear whether behaviour they are showing is because of variables that have been altered or just general behaviour

What is interactional synchrony

A

Two people are synchronized when they can carry out the same action simultaneously, In attachment this takes place when the carer and infants actions and emotions mirror each other

What is reciprocity?

A

When one person responds to the action of the other person with a similar action. Both carer and infant initiate interactions and take turns. The regularity of the interactions helps the caregiver anticipate and respond to the infant behaviour.
