Difference bw CGM vs FGB

A

CGM (real-time): provides info directly to user (don’t need to pull data— pushed to them /don’t need to scan sensor); displays moment-to moment info + trends + alarm if low

FGB: must pull info via scanning sensor to get data (sensor captures but doesn’t display readings right away); need to pull

When should you check your BG via finger prick when using CGM/FGM
- if glucose rapidly changing - if number dropping - if think reading may be inaccurate - if have symptoms of high /low - if have symptoms of high/low but sensor result doens’t match symptoms - during the 1st 12 hours of using libre 2

What is the AGP
Ambulatory glucose profile: visual report of the date for the last bit - helps with patterns + trends - give daily pattern (24 hours ) + compare weeks

What are the components of the Libre report
Glucose stats+ targets: includes glucose management indicator (predictor of A1c) + glucose variability (want it to remain below 32) Time in range: want about 70% - 1st thing we look at is minimize time below range (want it to be 3% low + 1% very lows) AGP : aggregation of data to help ID trends + patterns over 24 hours period (graphs multiple days/weeks) Daily glucose profiles ;ID specific times of deviation

How do we interpret the AGP
look for lows first , are the reading in target? how many ? when they in vs out? —- want our median curve to be as flat as possible — darker areas— indicate consistency of readings at that time
