What is the standard anatomical position?
body erect, feet slightly apart, palms facing forward with thumbs pointing away from the body
There are two major divisions of the body, what does the axial division describe?
the head, neck, and trunk

The limbs (legs and arms)
What are the three most common body planes?
Sagittal, Frontal, Transverse
Describe the sagittal plane
divides the body vertically into right and left parts
Describe the midsagittal plane

Describe the parasagittal plane
sagittal cut was off-centered (not on midline)
Describe the frontal plane
divided the body vertically into anterior (front) and posterior (back) parts
Describe the transverse plane

A cut that was made at an angle other than 90 degrees to vertical plane
What are the two sets of cavities?
Dorsal and Ventral Body Cavity

Cranial cavity and vertebral cavity
