What is brandy?

A

Brandy is made by fermenting while fresh grapes, distilled. Most brandy is aged in oak and/ or coloured with caramel before bottling, so it’s brown or amber in colour

A

Cognac is oak aged grape brandy from a delimited region to the north of Bordeaux. It must be double distilled using a cooper pot still. The result is that cognacs have distinctly fruity- floral aromas. Light to medium in body.

A

Liqueurs are distilled spirits that have been flavoured and sweetened. Made using a beaut real base spirit.

Dairy, herb, fruit and seed/nut are the 4 categories.
Must have a certain sweetness, water is added to reduce alcohol
