- Acts as the control centre for the cell
- Holds the DNA

-Holds the Chlorophyll (the green pigment plants use to make food)

Experiment: To prepare a slide from a plant tissue and examine the cells under a microscope
- Cut out a small piece of onion
- Use a forceps to peel off the inner skin
- Place the onion skin on a drop of water
- Gently lower the cover slip onto the slide using a mounted needle
- Examine cells
- Stain cells using iodine and examine again
What is a tissue?
A tissue is a group of cells with similar functions working together

An organ is made up of many different tissues working together
