How is EST determined?
Through the forward pass through the activity network.

earliest start time (EST) – determined by the activities preceding the event and is the earliest time at which the activity on this node can start;
How is LTS determined?
Through using the reverse pass in the activity network. When does this activity has to start for us to be finished in time.

latest start time (LST) – is the same or later than the EST and is the latest time at which all the previous activities need to have been completed to prevent the whole
project being held up
How is satisfaction determined?
The difference between how the project is percieved or viewed by a stakeholder and how they expect it to perform

What is activity-on-node (A-o-N) technique?
WBS breakdown of tasks, sequenced according to how the project needs to be performed and the duration of each task.

What are the benefits and limitations of using a Gantt Scheme?
Benefits: Communicates plan, easy, widely used, graphical interface.
Limitations: Does not help to allocate resources, perceived as a ‘statement of reality’

What is a WBS?
WBS - Work Breakdown Structure
Deconstruction of a project into comprehensible or manageable units
What is activity notation?
The activity where earliest start time (EST), latest start time (LST), duration and the total float (LST-EST) is specified.
What is multiple dependencies in a project?
Multiple activities that need to be completed before anothe tas can start
What is the critical path?
The path through the activities which takes the longest
What is the purpose of a Gantt chart?
Illustrate the relationship between the activities and time.

Work break down structure (activities)

Where the total float = 0 all the way.
Which techniques can be used when creating a Gantt chart?
Viewing the forward scheduel or viewing the backward scheduele. (start at deadline or at start time)
what is the purpose of generating project plans?
To give the planner opportunity to reveal opportunities of improvement and problem prevention and buoilding the foundation on which the project can proceed. also, benefits will be achieved when the plans are communicated.
