Who was the god of the Aztecs
Huitzilopichti
What did Huitzilopichti command the people to do?
He told them to look for an eagle perching on a cactus that’s where they should settle and build a great city

They were called sun stones they had tonatuuh a god in the middle then the four previous creations of the world around the god had on the end the 20 days of the month

A solar calendar was carved in the mid 1400s
The sacred calendar was 260 days long and it two the calendar 52 years to catch up with the solar calendar

They believed it was a deeply religious significance to be sacrificed it was the strongest expression of their devotion to the gods they believed the victims blood actually nourished the gods and without they would get sick and die

It was important because they could capture people to sacrifice

They would trade lots of animals thing since they didn’t have many of them and would trade foods
