What are the main characteristics of Zinfandel/Primitivo

Established in two different countries: USA and Italy.
Zinfandel/Primitivo is a grape variety that needs a warm climate to ripen successfully.
In California White Zinfandel is a medium sweet rose wine typically low alcohol content
The reds are commonly matured in oak…..typical aromas of black fruit, dried fruit and oak. It is dry with medium to high acidity and tannin, high alcohol and a full body.
In Puglia, a warm region, source of soft fruity dry red wine. It is possible to source very good or outstanding Puglian Primitivos.
