it would help her deal with her past and it would also tell the world that the holocaust did happen and to not repeat the past. It would also make room for new good memories for a better life.

How did Sarah end up as an orphan when her family was liberated by the Russians?
her mother got sick and her father had to take care of her and her dad thought that her and her brother would be safe out of Poland and better in Israel.
What happened to Jonathan? How did he meet Zvi?
Jonathan managed to escape the camps with his little brother because they were small, but everyone else was shot. He was left alone to take care of a new born baby. Jonathan met Zvi when he Zvi climb out of the pit of dead bodies. Jonathan was in the woods hiding.
How did Zvi manage to survive?
his mom jumped in front of him last minute and when she got shot, she pushed Zvi into the pile of dead bodies, and the Nazis didn’t notice.
Why do you think Jonathan acts the way he does at the end of the Chapter?
he misses his parents and he’s overwhelmed by everything that’s happened to him so far.
What does Ruth do that makes Nate and Miriam think they are seeing a miracle?
she dances and sings. She’s showing a positive attitude for the first time around them.
Why are the British threatening to send the Jews to camps in Cyprus?
they were hoping it was going to prevent them from trying to leave.
What reason did Nate give for them to continue with their plans?
Nate said that it’s hard to control people if they have nothing left to lose.
Why doesn’t Ruth want to go down into the hold of the ship?
it looks exactly like the beds they have in Auschwitz.
