Q

Hover Power Check Standards

A
  1. Position the aircraft in the vicinity of the takeoff point and in the direction of takeoff at the appropriate HVR height.
  2. Verify the aircraft gross weight is accurate in the CAAS/FPLN by comparing performance planning data, HVR override predicted TQ and actual TQ.
  3. Determine if sufficient PWR is AVAIL to complete the mission by comparing actual TQ to planned GO/ NO-GO TQ and Validation Factor.
  4. Determine if aircraft performance (both single and dual engine) is sufficient/available to complete the mission.

Q

Hover Power Check

A

Vicinity and direction of Take-off at 10’ hover

Hover Override: 10’ / no wind
verify weight is correct and compare to PPC (MFD Perf Prog)

CAAS weight / PPC Weight
Adjust PPC torque value by weight differential (2% torque = 1000 lbs)

Dynamic Torque, CAAS Torque, PPC Torque

Double dynamic torque for single engine IGE Capability (external factors)

Go/No Go Torque (PPC) attempt all OGE maneuvers

Validation Torque (PPC) not exceeded gross weight for mission profile

Hover Override to 80’ to determine SE OGE capability
Double CAAS OGE HVR TRQ

Verify Fuel

Enough fuel and power for the mission

Hover Power Check complete
