Q

Explain two reasons why the incarnation is important for Christian’s?

A

-Christian’s believed that Jesus is God and that he came to Earth in order to enable humans to be saved and go to heaven. Therefore without the incarnation humans would not be able to have a proper relationship with God.
-The incarnation also shows God is all powerful and all loving. This is because He performed a miracle in order to get a closer connection to humans.

21
Q

Highlight the 6 last days of Jesus’ life

A

-The last supper
-The betrayal and Arrest
-The trial
-The crucifixion
-The resurrection
-The Ascension

22
Q

Explain 2 reasons why the creation story is important to Christian’s

A

-It shows God is omnipotent and the source of all life. Important because humans can trust God to decide their future and know that everything that happens is part of God’s plan. Supported by the quote ‘The almighty, maker of heaven and earth’
-Shows God is omnibenevolent. Important because it makes Christian’s feel more comforted knowing they are worshiping to a God who is caring of their thoughts and feelings.

23
Q

3 theodicies to the problem of evil

A

-Charity. Provides an opportunity to show compassion to others. Without suffering we cannot show support.
-Augustine. Evil exists due to humans free will. God cannot stop evil without getting rid of our free will.
-Biblical solution. Suffering is seen as a punishment to remind humans to follow the laws of God. Punishments help us to learn.

24
Q

Roman Catholic view

A

Believe Heaven is for the really righteous, Hell is for the really unrighteous and purgatory is for those who must work towards making themselves ready for heaven.

25
Universal salvation
All human souls no matter who will go to heaven because of God’s unlimited love and mercy for everyone.
26
Protestant view
If you believe in God and that Jesus is our saviour then you will go to heaven. However if you don’t then no matter how good you have been you will go to Hell.
27
Give two reasons for and against the statement- evil in the world is the fault of humans and not God
FOR- -Humans have free will, we choose our decisions and we are all responsible for our actions. -Adam and Eve chose to eat the apple and perform the ultimate sin, disobeying God. AGAINST- -The inconsistent triad. God can’t exist at the same time as evil if he is all loving and all powerful. -Natural Evil cannot be made by humans
