Class test 3 Flashcards
Desirable difficulties
Easy and effortless studying sounds nice put struggles help stuck it better, we learn from making mistakes and if we struggle to rmemebr something, we come up with referneces to things we already know and that helps storing it in long-term memory. The more time and effort, the better the results will be.
What is the process of consolidation
It is a type of refelcection. It requires deep processing of the new information, the brain fills in the blanks, finding references and connections to previously learned information.
Write and learn method
Putting notes into our own words has lot better effects than blinldy copying them.
Errorless learning
Errorless learning my seem ideal but we need to make mistakes in order to grow. Corrective feedback is important so we don’t make the same mistakes again.
Quizing right after studying something leaves little to no room for errors as the information is still fresh in our minds.
Students who are told that making mistakes is okay would score better on a test than those who have to preform under the pressure of perfections
