Respiratory Systems Review Qs (all, incl. overlapping w ENT…)

A
  • Cough
    o Do you have a cough? Timing, duration, character (e.g., barking, whooping…), acute vs chronic, dry vs wet/productive?
  • Sputum/phlegm
    o Do you produce sputum/phlegm? Colour , amount , nature , smell ?
  • Haemoptysis
    o Do you ever cough up blood? Colour ? Amount? How long? Onset?
  • Wheeze
    o Do you have a wheeze?
  • Hoarse voice
  • Dyspnoea
    o Do you ever feel breathless? Variability? Triggering factors (e.g., exercise)
  • Chest pain
    o Do you have chest pain? What is it like? Is it made worse by breathing?
  • Sinuses
    o Do you have a postnasal drip ? Sore throat? Painful/blocked/discharging ears? Runny nose/rhinorrhoea? Sneezing?
  • Facial pain
    o Do you ever suffer from facial pain?
  • Epistaxis
    o Do you ever have nose bleeds?
  • Sleep apnoea
    o Do you snore? Does your sleeping partner report your snore? Do you have apnoeic episodes? Have any apnoeic episodes been reported by your sleeping partner? Do you have daytime sleepiness or wake not feeling refreshed? Fatigue?
  • Stridor
    o Do you have a stridor?
  • Systematic effects
    o Do you ever have fevers I? Night sweats ? Myalgia ? Have you noticed any weight loss ? Fatigue? Malaise?
