Definition
A neurological disorder that affects the function of the oculomotor nerve, which controls eye movements and pupil dilation.

Vascular disorders
It can also occur as a result of diabetes, infections, or autoimmune disorders.
Risk factors
Aging
Hypertension
Diabetes
Smoking
Epidemiology/ Population affected
Oculomotor nerve palsy can affect individuals of any age but is more commonly seen in older adults. It affects both sexes equally.
Clinical presentation
Drooping of the eyelid
Double vision
A pupil that is larger than normal
Difficulty moving the eye in certain directions.
Prognosis
The prognosis for oculomotor nerve palsy depends on the underlying cause and the extent of the nerve damage. In some cases, the condition may resolve on its own without any treatment, while in other cases, treatment may be necessary to manage the symptoms.
