How fast do sedimentary rocks erode?
Sedimentary rocks erode at a rate of 10cm to several metres per year.
How fast do igneous rocks erode?
Igneous rocks erode at a rate of less than 0.1cm per year.
How fast do Metamorphic rocks erode?
Metamorphic rocks erode at a rate of 0.1-10cm per year.
What is unconsolidated sediment?
Material such as sand, gravel, clay and silt that has not been completely cemented to become sedimentary rock (not undergone lithification) and so is loosed and easily eroded.
