depression is a mood disorder. the golden sentence is through to be as a result of Irrational, negative and false thoughts & beliefs of the World& Self.

Consequence: feelings of despair

Beck’s Negative Triad
-> It is acquired during childhood such as continuous parental Criticism leading to the development
of negative schemas. Once in similar situations to where the Schema was learned It’s activated.
-These negative schema leads to depression and therefore maintains the negative triad of beliefs:
negative view of self, negative view of world and negative view of future

Rational belief leads to healthy emotions irrational ones leads you to unhealthy emotions. Depression is therefore a cause of irrational beliefs

Holding unrealistic /irrational beliefs ‘this must happen ‘,‘I must have/be/do…. leads to disappointment and depression as these standards are impossible to uphold
