What does tachycardia mean?
A heart rate greater than 100 beats per minute
What does bradycardia mean?
A heart rate less than 60 beats per minute
What is hypoxia?
A deficiency of oxygen in the body’s tissues
What is hypotension?
Low blood pressure, typically below 90/60 mmHg
What is hypertension?
High blood pressure, typically above 140/90 mmHg
What does cyanosis indicate?
A bluish discoloration due to lack of oxygen
What is dyspnea?
Difficulty or labored breathing
What is apnea?
Absence of breathing
What is edema?
Swelling caused by fluid accumulation in the tissues
What is ischemia?
Lack of blood flow to an organ or tissue
What does febrile mean?
Having a fever
What is anaphylaxis?
A severe allergic reaction that can cause airway obstruction
What is hemothorax?
Blood accumulation in the pleural cavity
What is pneumothorax?
Air accumulation in the pleural cavity causing lung collapse
What is a contusion?
A bruise caused by damaged blood vessels beneath the skin
