• Impaired structure and/or function of ventricles and affects the heart’s ability to pump
• Heart muscle becomes stretched beyond it’s ability to contract efficiently, resulting in a collection of fluid in the lungs or the extremities
• It effects both sides of the heart

increased fatigue, shortness of breath, and pulmonary edema
