What are citizen responsibilities?
Serve on juries, vote in elections, stay informed, obey laws (civic duties)
What does the 1st Amendment guarantee?
Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition; gives citizens the right to make their own choices regarding religion; prohibits government from passing laws regarding religion.
What does the 4th Amendment protect against?
No unreasonable search or seizure.
What right does the 6th Amendment provide?
Right to trial by jury.
What does the 8th Amendment ensure?
Freedom from cruel or unusual punishment and excessive bails and fines.
What does the 10th Amendment state?
Rights not given to the federal government are given to the states; created federalism which prevents abuse of power by central government.
