What is content analysis
It’s a method used to analysis qualitative data, it usually transforms that data into quantitative. It looks through qualitative data and looks for certain words, themes or concepts within the data. It is used to organize and get meaning from data to get conclusions from it.
What typos of data is analysed in content analysis
Qualitative data, which can be written or oral. Data can come from interviews, field research notes, books, essays…
How does content analysis differ from other methods (like observations or experiments)
Content analysis looks at textual data to identify themes and meanings whereas observation involves analyzing behavioral data to identity patterns and behaviors. Experiments are getting the data whereas content analysis is analyzing the data received.
What’s a coding frame
A method of analysis used to convert qualitative data into quantitative data, but assigning notable behavior codes. It basis looks at how often words, themes or concepts appear in qualitative data. There are two way to create the coding system: (deductive apparat)create a code book prior to the experiment, or (inductive approach) use the data as a basis to create the code book
How do you make sure your content analysis is valid and reliable
To make sure you results are reliable you can use two or more coders independently Coding the same content and get them to compare their results. To make it valid stick to you coding system.
What is the different between content and thematic analysis
Content analysis looks at individuals experiences, views and perfections . It aims to provide insight into a particular group of culture. Whereas content analysis focuses on the content itself and looks at words, phrases and images. It’s usually used to understand context intentions or affects.
