  • 21 days of lactational amenorrhoea
  • No contraception for 6 months- ONLY IF exclusively BF
  • Coils- in 48h or 4 weeks PN
  • POP/progesterone methods- Safe in BF, start from D21
  • COCP- After 6 weeks if BF/VTE risk
  • 3 weeks if not BF

Women on hormonal cont:
- Stop pill etc for 2 weeks
- Check FSH, if >30 repeat in 6 weeks
- if FSH >30 x2, can stop cont after 1 year

Non-hormonal:
- Stop after 1 year of amenorrhoea
