A
  • Recent genital tract infection
  • Asymptomatic fibroids
  • Pregnancy
  • Wanting fertility- can cause early ovarian failure
  • Consider myomectomy

A
  • 80-90% asymptomatic after 1 year
  • 40-70% reduction in fibroid volume
  • 10-15% need hysterectomy in 3-5 years

Complications- short and long term

A

Short term:
- Pain
- Groin haematoma
- Arterial thrombosis
- Infection

Long term (>30days, more common):
- Vaginal discharge (very common)
- Fibroid expulsion
- Infection
- Amenorrhoea
