What contracted hours does a part-time worker typically work?
Less than 35 hours a week, however zero hour contracts can also commonly be used where the employer is not obliged to offer a minimum of working hours to the employee.
What is a pro-rata salary?
A salary paid in proportion to the amount of time worked compared to a full-time equivalent.
E.g. if a full time salary is £30,000 and an employee works half-time then salary would be £15,000
