1
Q

VASODILATION

A

1)muscles in the arteriole walls RELAX, and arterioles DILATE
2) increases supply of blood flow to the surface of the SKIN
3) increases heat loss via radiation to the surroundings

Q

VASOCONSTRICTION

A

1) muscles in the arteriole walls CONTRACT, arterioles constrict, lumen narrows
2) decreases the supply of blood to the surface of the skin
3) reducing heat loss via RADIATION

Q

IRIS ACCOMODATION: DISTANT

A

1) DISTANT
2) CILIARY MUSCLES RELAX
3) SUSPENSORY LIGAMENTS TIGHTEN
4) pulls on the lens + makes it thinner

Q

SYNAPSES

A

1an electrical impulse travels down the axon of the PRE-SYNAPTIC NEURONE, and arrives at the end
2) triggers the release of NEUROTRANSMITTERS across the SYNAPTIC CLEFT, from the VESICLES
3) these diffuse across and bind with RECPETOR MOLECULES on the POST-SYNAPTIC MEMBRANE
4) this triggers the impulse to be generated along the second axon
5) the neurotransmitters are lastly broken down by enzymes to prevent repeated impulses
