How do the CQC assess if there is safe and effective staffing levels?
They see whether there are enough qualified, skilled, and experienced people who receive effective support, supervision, and development.
They also see whether departments work together effectively to provide safe care that meets people’s individual needs.
How do the CQC assess if governance, management, and sustainability is well-led?
They see if staff have clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability, and good governance that are used to manage and deliver good quality, sustainable care, treatment, and support.
They also see if information about risk, performance, and outcomes are acted on.
How do the CQC assess if monitoring and improving outcomes is effective?
They see whether staff routinely monitor people’s care and treatment to continuously improve it to ensure that outcomes are positive, consistent, and meet both clinical and patient expectations.
What does a CQC IRMER inspection assess?
- How the Trust meets the regulations laid down under IRMER
- The Trusts compliance with IRMER in radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic radiology
What is an Inspection Self Assessment Questionnaire (ISAQ)?
A questionnaire that Trusts must complete to describe how they comply with IRMER and fulfill the IRMER requirements before the CQC inspects them.
