What is crime?
An offence that merits community condemnation and punishment, usually by fine or imprisonment.

The act of inflicting a consequence or penalty on someone as a result of their wrongdoing.
What is law?
A system of rules developed by a society or government to deal with crime, business, and social relationships.
What is Shar’ia?
Islamic law based on the Qur’an.

To take risks.

People may turn to crime to meet basic needs.
How does lack of self-control relate to crime?
Some individuals break the law because they can’t control their impulses.

Some break the law to finance a drug-dependent lifestyle.

Lack of support and discipline can increase the chance of criminal behavior.

People may commit crimes if they believe they won’t get caught.

What is retribution?
